Matariki celebration

Today me and my class planted a tree for the matariki celebration.
Our tree is a totara tree. It has spiky leaves and if you touch it your
hand will hurt.  The whole entire school got to plant a tree and the
best part about it was that everyone got to do something.  I got to
put the soil onto the tree two times. And then we went back to class
for maths.

Matariki celebration
Today is matariki celebration day.
All the school got to plant trees.  Our
classrooms tree was a totara tree.
I love the tree because it grows big only if we
look after it.

SUE AND TINNIE OUR
READ DOG.

It was great to see Sue and our
READ dog 'Tinnie' come into
school for the first time. Our
class enjoyed having them both.
If someone didn't read this
week then Mrs Faletui assured
us we would read next time.
As Sue and Tinnie were leaving,
we got a lovely photo with
some of us.

BIKING

On Wednesday me and my class went biking.

We had to have a buddy so we can share the bikes

together. Me and my friend Kent were buddy’s. I was riding the bike first and then he  rode the bike after me.

SWIMMING DAY

I had my togs all ready - and was really disappointed when Mrs Faletui said the pool was closed for the day!I wanted to float in the pool and do some kicking making splashes in the pool!!! IT would have been nice to have been able to cool down in the pool as Wednesday was a hot day…It would have been fun playing and swimming in the pool with my friends .The End

MANDARIN LESSONS
                                       WITH TRACY
On Friday afternoons, we have mandarin lessons with tracy. For our first lesson,
we practised to say “our name” and say “hello”. Then we learnt how to say
“happy new year” and say “year of the dog”
The cool part was that we could make a red pocket. A red pocket is a
chinese tradition in which you can put some money in a envelope and give it to
someone. It also has a picture on the front and back. Here is a picture of two
fully made red pockets.Image result for red pocketA short story by Tait
